    1. Motorway slip roads with 2 lanes usually have a big blue sign showing which of slip lanes merges first( outer or inner, outer into lane 1 of motorway, or often the 2 slip lanes MERGE first [ watch which one in which direction on bug blue sign]. 2. If unsure, stick to left slip lane as that usually is meant for slower/ heavier traffic with LONGER slip road to build uo speed and opportunity to check out traffic approaching from lane 1 on motorway, which if course has priority. 3. Once " established " on approach at good speed ( don't forget trucks can go 44- 55 mph in lane 1 and have priority) , look for a suitable space in lane 1 to squeeze in and adjust speed to current traffic flow. After half a mile or so , you can decide whuch speed is appropriate for your vehicle , position and load ( no point going overtaking with pior speed differential with heavy loaded vehicle when aiming at next exit already😅). Motorways are safe, but becoming increasingly unsafe with drivers who have poor observation skills, use sat nav waiting for direction while others waiting for them to make up their mind / speed / position and have no clue where thay are going. Keep eye on traffic at very frjnt and back , as speed and lack of observations can decompensate a whole traffic flow very quickly . Too many eyes now on screens and not on roads .

    If it has Bluetooth and you were not aware, then you put the satnav in a low worth. OHREX N76 Bluetooth Sat Nav 798, 7 inch with UK Europe Maps 2024(Free Lifetime Update), Satnav for Car Truck Lorry HGV LGV Motorhome, Speed Cam Alert, Post codes, Lane Guidance

    Ohrex is not the owner of the satnav data, it comes from a generic software used by many low-end satnavs. One thing that is very important to truck drivers is the versatility of import route plans from external sources, for example, What3Words. I did not see any Bluetooth capability.

    It always makes me laugh when my Dad has driven my car and I get in my car the next day to drive it, I’m not sure why but he always adjusts the side mirrors to see what seems like 75% car and 25% road 😂 But of course I don’t say anything to him because he has a lot more experience than me, he was a bus driver and now he’s a lorry driver and I’m a little bit scared of him so I don’t dare say anything to him but I don’t understand how he can have his side mirrors adjusted that way, I like to see approximately 20% car and 80% road as that gives me as much information as possible.

  • @kiohaha

    He crossed the roundabout. Went straight. Even the sign posts say it’s a straight exit on number 2 exit. Only when he gets 3feet from the roundabout is there a faded “left only” marking on the road for left lane. Everything after the 12oclock is right lane but no way this is driver fault. I would say the road “left turn “ marking is wrong that’s why it’s not repainted

    Electric mirrors are brilliant and make so much easier mind the day when you had to struggle on your own setting the passenger then get on and wrong or if lucky had a passenger to help. Motorway can be good to check if correct nice clear view down the left or right l lane and just enough to see the side with the handle just visible in the bottom inside corner on either side

    • @JamesTravis

    • @WayneTulip-zm9gw
      @WayneTulip-zm9gw День тому

      Yes, I saw that on a UA-cam video, adjust the left side mirror so the front left passenger door handle is in the bottom right hand side of the side mirror, adjust the right side mirror so the front right driver door handle is in the bottom left hand side of the side mirror, giving you the best possible view of the road and also it shows you just enough of your car to help with reversing and to help with perspective, seeing how close or how far things are from your car. 🙃

    • @wrightwoodwork
      @wrightwoodwork 2 дні тому

      Don't rush be patient is it busy and slow you can peep and creep and someone will let you out or if busy and fast you just have to wait . Certain roads that have 2 lanes and you're turning left and signal some people will move right to allow you to merge. If you can't go you can't go don't worry about cars behind they all understand the situation and are happy to wait till safe. If you go and have an accident they aint going nowhere immediately. So just relax about it
